The Fire and Emergency Services Authority of WA is the host organisation of the Emergency Service Cadet program and units work closely with the Fire and Rescue Service, State Emergency Service, Bush Fire Service and Volunteer Marine Rescue Services.
WONGAN HILLS EMERGENCY SERVICES CADETS
Established in 2003, the unit now has 42 Emergency Services Cadets. Normally operated out of school hours, the Wongan Hills Emergency Services Cadet Unit runs within school hours as part of the curriculum, due largely to the length of the School Bus runs.
Our cadets annually attend a Bivouac Camp to the “Fowler Block”, and another week camp in Term 4, alternating locations north and south of Wongan Hills.
Cadets also have the opportunity to apply to sail on the STS Leeuwin, attend Young Leaders Days, participate in ANZAC and Remembrance Day Services as well as other full day activities such as roping, abseiling, archery, etc.
